Paul M. Pineda
Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Paul Pineda has worked as a personal financial adviser to individuals and their families for the past nine years. Many of his clients are entrepreneurs, business executives, and people in their retirement years. Paul builds strong relationships with his clients while focusing on investment management, retirement planning and distribution, and estate planning.
Prior to co-founding Asymmetric Advantage, Paul worked for both Ameriprise Financial and AXA Advisors; he also ran his own education business for many years. As CEO of Asymmetric Advantage, Paul's primary responsibility is to understand and address the financial goals and objectives of our clients; he is always available to each of our clients. Paul maintains the Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Paul is a 1983 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with degrees in both Engineering and Philosophy. Paul, his wife Jody, and their extended family are active supporters of many Seattle-area community endeavors. Currently, Paul volunteers as the treasurer of SeeYourImpact.org, and serves on several non-profit Boards, including Youth Eastside Services, the Boy Scouts Chief Seattle Council Board, and the Scoutreach Foundation.
Marat Mor, PhD
Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder
As CIO of Asymmetric Advantage, Marat Mor is ultimately responsible for the research, development and engagement of the complex proprietary algorithms and methodologies that form the company's unique investment approach. His focus is on making efficient investment decisions and working to ensure that the investment operations effectively support the needs of our clients.
Marat completed his doctorate in aerospace engineering from the Israel Institute of Technology in 2002. Shortly thereafter, he was invited to the University of Washington to engage in post-doctoral research in the area of design optimization. Since that time, Marat has worked continuously as a consultant, researcher, and manager on a wide range of NASA and FAA sponsored projects. He is a published author in a variety of specialized fields including interdisciplinary optimization, sensitivity analysis, and uncertainty and risk assessment. For the past decade, Marat has passionately pursued the combining of classic financial market theories with his particular research work to develop what has now become the Asymmetric Advantage approach to investment allocation and portfolio management. In the securities industry, he maintains a Series 65 license. Marat continues his relationship with the University of Washington by collaborating on variety of projects and sharing his time and expertise with University students.
